Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Watchwise Family. We've written it to be read — if any part of it is unclear, email us and we'll explain it in plainer words.
Last updated 2 August 2026.
1 · Who we are, and what this covers
Watchwise Family ("Watchwise", "we", "us") is made by Colin Tulloch, a sole proprietor based in Saskatchewan, Canada. These terms cover the Watchwise Family app for iPhone, the Watchwise app for Apple Watch, this website, and the service behind them.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use Watchwise — and if you've already paid, write to us and we'll help you sort out a refund through Apple.
2 · The most important thing: we never hold your money
Watchwise is a record, not a bank. Every balance you see — spending, savings goals, the giving jar — is a note of what your family owes your kid. No real money moves through Watchwise. We do not hold funds, issue cards, process payments between you and your children, or transfer anything to anyone. You settle up with your kids in real cash, on your own terms, in your own home.
This means Watchwise is not a bank, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution, and nothing in the app is financial advice. It also means the numbers are only as accurate as what gets entered — including any corrections you make yourself.
3 · Accounts, parents and kids
An adult creates the family account and is responsible for it, including anything done by co-parents they invite and by children using a paired watch. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
Children don't get their own Watchwise accounts. A kid's Apple Watch is paired to a profile you created and control. We ask for a child's first name and nothing else about them — no birthdate, no email, no account of their own. You can unpair a watch or delete a child's profile at any time.
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
4 · The subscription
New families get 14 days free, with no payment method required. After that, Watchwise costs CAD $4.99 per month or CAD $49.99 per year. One subscription covers your whole family — every child, every watch, and every co-parent. We don't charge per child and don't intend to.
- Subscriptions are bought through Apple and charged to your Apple Account.
- They renew automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- You manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings — not here. We can't cancel it for you, and we never see your card.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. If you think you deserve one, tell us and we'll support your request.
- Prices can change. If they do, we'll tell you before it affects you, and a change never applies to a period you've already paid for.
5 · What happens if you stop paying
Your data stays yours, and stays visible. If a subscription lapses, Watchwise becomes read-only: every balance, every savings goal, and every week of history remains there to look at, on your phone and on your kids' watches. What stops is change — no new jobs, no approvals, no money movement, and the weekly allowance stops accruing.
We do not delete your family's records because you stopped paying, and we don't hold them hostage. Subscribe again and everything picks up exactly where it left off.
6 · Using it decently
Don't try to break into other families' data, disrupt the service, resell access, or use Watchwise to do something illegal. Don't attempt to bypass the subscription. We may suspend an account that's doing any of that, and we'll tell you why if we do.
7 · Your data, and leaving
What we collect and why is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we collect the minimum needed to run a family's chores and allowance, we don't sell anything to anyone, and there are no advertising or tracking services inside either app.
You can delete everything. The account owner can delete the family from Settings, and that removes your family's data from our systems, including your children's. Deletion is permanent — we can't undo it for you. Backups roll off within 30 days.
8 · Availability, changes and honesty about limits
Watchwise is run by one person on a small scale. We work to keep it up and correct, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable, never lose a notification, or never contain a bug. Features may change as the product grows; if we remove something you rely on, we'll say so.
The service is provided "as is", to the extent the law allows. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law — including under consumer protection legislation, which may give you rights these terms cannot take away.
9 · Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we'll email the address on your account and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Watchwise after a change means you accept it. If you don't, you can cancel and delete your family.
10 · Law, and how to reach us
These terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Questions, complaints, or anything that reads wrong to you: hello@watchwisefamily.com. A real person reads it.
Apple is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for Watchwise. Where you bought a subscription through Apple, Apple's own terms also apply to that purchase.
